Suspension of Disbelief  –  Strange. For some reason the flowers dont smell. Wormwood is a bitter-tasting plant, which  is poisonous in large doses. The plant is mentioned in the Bible in the context of disasters in “The Last Days”. Revelation 8:10-11 "The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters. The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.” When the Chernobyl accident occurred on 26:th of April 1986, many Christians believed that the prophecy had been fulfilled. The radio-active fall-out contaminated the water in large areas. Chernobyl means mugworth, which is a close relative of wormwood. The accident caused a toxic cloud. Not the flaming torch the Bible talks about. But “torch” comes from the Greek verb “to radiate”. – One more experiment. Experiments, facts, truth of the highest instance. In the 90's a test was carried out, which showed that children who listened to Mozart performed better than others. The music was supposed to promote intelligence and memory, but also reduce anxiety.  –  There´s no such thing as facts. Especially here. All this is someone´s idiotic invention. Another site with links to wormwood is Nevada in the US, "The Sagebrush State." Sagebrush is also a relative of wormwood, with bitter taste. The Nevada desert is known for the nuclear tests in the 1950's and 60's. The long-term consequences are hard to estimate but up to 160 million people may have been exposed to nuclear fall-out. The relationship between the prophecy and the tests has never been emphasized. So which of the similar plants did the Bible prophecy refer to?  –  Most important ... you have to believe! There were plans to build 12 reactors in Chernobyl. But the incident brought a premonition about what could happen at a real meltdown. It will take hundreds of years before the area is habitable again. Until then, the zone is a restricted area.  –  This is the zone. It may even seem capricions. But it is what we´ve made it with our condition. Tarkovskij made the film Stalker in 1979. It was recorded near a chemical plant. The pollution was high and several members of the film crew later died from cancer. Tarkovskij died in 1986, the same year as the Chernobyl disaster. In the movie, an author and a professor travel into the post-apocalyptic zone. A guide, the Stalker, shall bring them to the place which is said to fulfill your innermost desires.  –  Do you realize what will happen when everybody belives in this room? And all come rushing here? It´s only a question of time. If not today, then tomorrow.  –  It´s only a bomb.  –  What... ? You must be kidding!  –  No!  –  It´s the only place they can come to, if there´s no hope left for them. You yourself have come here! Why destroy the hope then? The professor fears that the room will be used in the wrong context. But he changes his mind, and leaves the room intact. Chernobyl is now a concept, in the same way as wormwood in the Bible. How to get there is even described in “Lonely Planet”. I went there. It's a strange place, the zone. Not as desolateas I had expected. The guide stopped at some places and said “This is a good photo moment”.  –  For the great day of His wrath has come. And who is able to stand? Let everything that’s been planned come true. Let them belive. Maybe I had a belief or an expectation that Chernobyl would be overgrown with wormwood. That the word of God had descended to earth, materialized and risen up from the ground as a burning bush. Proving the fulfillment of the Bible prophecy.  –  They don’t believe in anything! They’ve got the organ with one belives atrophied for lack of use. And what’s most awful ... is that no one needs it. No one needs that room. I saw no wormwood in Chernobyl, just a lot of mugworth.  –  And yet, music, as if by some miracle gets trough our heart. What is it that resonates in us in response to noise brought to harmony, making it the source of greatest delight  which stuns us and brings us together? The result of the Mozart study could not be reproduced, and is hence not reliable. Yet records with Mozart were handed out to new-born childern in parts of the US. The music that has been played is Andante Cantabile from Mozart’s Symphony No 41 and the Andante from the French Horn No. 2 Es-dur.  –  You want to know something, doctor? I don't think Mozart's going to help at all. <<
